I was not born in America and even though I grew up over here, I can proudly say I’m more involved with my own culture than I am with the American culture. One main aspect I feel I am more cultured in is music. I rarely ever listen to American music unless it is on my radio while I’m driving somewhere. My entire ITunes is full of music from across Asia and there are less than 50 songs out of more than 2000 that are by American artists. I’m probably the least literate about American music, classic or even what’s in right now.
I would like to do something involving music sharing from across the world based on genres the users input about what genres they enjoy. It would be like Pandora where you choose songs but then it would filter songs from across the world instead of English songs. I feel like this would be an online community with interaction somehow involved in there. It would be user generated for each other or by big record labels making their music available. I want to work on something that opens people up to new cultures through music with interaction somewhere in that mix.
